Bubbles with GiGi

Currently I have such mixed emotions about the weather. I am, and forever will be, a lover of summer. The greenery all around, the warmth of the nights, the fact that socks and coats are not a requirement all make my heart happy. It is the time of year I thrive in. However, as the season begins to change I find myself welcoming flannels and pumpkin flavored everything. If I am being honest, I have already opted to make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies while every wax warmer I own fills the house of either pumpkin or apple geared melts. It is delicious and I have no regrets. Ending summer means the transition into back to school (well kind of) and brings on memories of elementary school and old school friends.

I am lucky enough to have known Stephanie for over 20 years. Hold on one second as I recover from how old that sounds. Stephanie and Andrew have graciously welcomed me to photograph their family again, but this time with an added bonus of her mom {GiGi}. What an experience. Seeing people you have known for ages transition into roles of motherhood and grandparent is truly special.

Of course I cannot exclude Andrew, who is a quiet hero in this story. Giving the gift of life and love is a true example of selflessness.

The beauty and sarcastic humor this family brings is refreshing and real. Full of energy that cannot be matched. Whirling and twirling, jumping and climbing while giggling and taking bites of “corndogs”.

They are complete troopers. Walking in muddy pathways while the rain beat down on our faces causing us to cut the initial session in Green Mountain Falls short. We resumed without skipping a beat for a beautiful day at Rock Island Trailhead. They completely embraced strawberry scented bubbles as they popped in their faces and poured down their hands. The love they all have for each other is simply fun to be a part of.

Cheers to elementary school friendships! Cheers to an exciting new school year! Cheers to making new memories!

Always,
